Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
This policy covers the MoodSnug website and app. The information we process depends on which you use.
At a glance
Browsing this website does not give us access to your journal, contacts or location. If you email us, we receive your address and message. In the app, account information and optional features involve additional data, explained below.
Questions or a privacy request? Write to [email protected].
Who is responsible
The data controller is Wombat d.o.o., Mediteranska 59-3, Budva, Montenegro, registration no. 03486923. Contact us at [email protected].
When you visit or write to us
Website visits. Our hosting and security providers process technical request information, such as your IP address, the page requested and browser information, to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.
Email. If you contact us or request an invitation, we receive your email address, your message and any information you include. We use these to answer you and handle your request. Requesting an invitation does not create an app account.
When you use the app
The app processes information needed to provide your account and the features you choose to use:
- Account and profile. Sign-in information, including your Google account identifier and email address, identifies and secures your account. Your display name, profile photo and any contact identifiers you verify support your profile and connections.
- Journal and sharing. The app uses the mood information and other content you enter to provide your journal and any sharing you choose. Connections and delivery information are processed to send updates to the people you select.
- Contact discovery, if enabled. Contact identifiers, such as phone numbers and email addresses, are used to look for people you know. Contact access and whether others can find you are separate choices. You can change these in the app and revoke address-book access in your device settings.
- Location, if enabled. A one-time location is used for location-related features you choose. MoodSnug does not track your location in the background. If you contribute to area-level mood statistics, coarse location and mood information are used to produce those statistics.
- Notifications. A push token lets the notification provider reach your device and notify the app of updates.
- Diagnostics. Technical information, such as device model, operating-system version and crash details, helps us find and fix faults.
- Product analytics, when enabled. Limited usage events help us understand whether parts of the app work well. These use a random analytics identifier and do not include journal text, mood values, contact details or precise coordinates. You can turn analytics off in the app’s privacy settings.
- Purchases, where available. The app store processes payment. We and our subscription provider use purchase and entitlement information to enable paid features; we do not receive your payment-card details.
How data is protected and shared
End-to-end encryption protects the content of private updates sent between connected people: that content is encrypted on the sender’s device for its recipients. This does not mean every piece of account or service information is encrypted in the same way. Sign-in records, connections, delivery information and some profile information must be processed to operate the service.
We use providers for website hosting and security, email, app hosting and authentication, notifications, contact verification, diagnostics, analytics and subscription management. They process information needed for those services. App stores and sign-in providers also process information under their own privacy policies.
We do not sell your personal data or use advertising identifiers. We may disclose information where required by law. For details about our providers and where they process information, contact [email protected].
How long information is kept
Account information is kept while your account is active. Other information is kept for the purpose it serves: handling correspondence, delivering updates, investigating faults or meeting legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of record and the provider involved.
You can request account deletion in the app or by email. Deletion covers your account, profile, connections and discoverability records. Information that must be retained by law, and records held independently by an app store or another provider, may follow different retention rules.
For help, see Delete your account. Deleting your account does not cancel an app-store subscription.
Your choices and rights
You can change optional app settings and revoke device permissions for contacts and location. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting processing that took place before withdrawal.
Depending on the law that applies, you may request access, correction, deletion or a portable copy of your data, and object to or ask us to restrict processing. You may also complain to the relevant data-protection authority, including in your country of residence where applicable.
Email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy”. We may ask for information needed to verify that a request concerns your account.
Changes to this policy
We will post revisions here with an updated date and bring material changes to your attention where required.
